Source Material: The Heshoo Beshoo Group – “Emakhaya”

The Heshoo Beshoo group was a South African jazz band that formed in 1969.  The group featured Henry Sithole (alto saxophone), his brother Stanley Sithole (tenor saxophone), Cyril Magubane (guitarist), Ernest Mothole (bassist), and Nelson Magwaza (drummer).  One year after the group formed, they released their one and only album, Armitage Road.  The album features five songs and “Emakhaya” is one of the standouts.  Since the release of their album, the project has become a cult favorite amongst record collectors and music aficionados.
