Smoothe Da Hustler is a rapper from Brownsville, Brooklyn who had a nice run in the ’90s.  He made a name for himself in the streets, both on and off wax, and his mixtapes garnered some early attention.  In 1994, Smoothe Da Hustler opened for The Notorious B.I.G. on The Ready To Die tour. This cemented Smoothe Da Hustler even more, and one year later, alongside his brother Trigga Tha Gambler they released “Broken Language.”  It was a hard hitting single that opened even more doors; Smoothe Da Hustler ultimately signed to Profile Records in 1996.  His single was re-released on his debut album, Once Upon A Time In America (1996).  The album didn’t fare as well as the single, but “Broken Language” is still Smoothe Da Hustler’s most seminal record.
