Sample Flips: Inspectah Deck Ft. La The Darkman “Lovin You” (Prod. By True Master)

Inspectah Deck released his debut album, Uncontrolled Substance, in 1999.  The album was originally supposed to be released in 1995, but two floods at RZA’s home studio postponed the album indefinitely.  RZA lost upwards of 500 beats (including True Master productions) and Inspectah’s album was heavily impacted.  When his album was eventually released in 1999, it was met with critical acclaim and it is his most successful album to date.  The album featured Wu-Tang members U-God and Masta Killa as well as a number of Wu affiliates, like La the Darkman. Uncontrolled Substance contains sample-based beats throughout, and one of the stronger cuts is “Lovin’ You.”
