Candace Love was a schoolteacher from Chicago who became a singer in the late 1960s.  She recorded five singles for Aquarius Records, a small label started by Ric Williams, who was a local soul musician and songwriting talent.  “Uh! Uh! Boy, That’s A No No,” released in 1969, was the most successful single that she recorded.  It peaked at #25 on the Billboard Soul Singles chart.  Shortly after, Love recorded four more singles before the Aquarius Records label ended.  Ric Williams created three additional labels, Shock, Zodiac, and Criss-Cross records.  The last two songs recorded by Love (although she was credited as ‘Woman’) were “That’s How It Is/I Want To Get Back.” Both songs were released on the Shock record label in the 1970s.
