Kellee Patterson was a singer from Gary, Indiana who recorded in the ’70s. She got her start in the music industry after winning a series of beauty pageants in her town. In 1971, she became Miss Indiana, and her singing played a unique role in her win. In 1973, she signed a record deal with Black Jazz Records, and she released her debut album, Maiden Voyage. It was the only album she released on the label. In 1976, she released her second album, Kellee, on Shadybrook Records. And in 1977, she released her third album, Turn on the Lights – Be Happy. One of the most notable records on the album is “If It Don’t Fit Don’t Force It.”
