Hiro Yanagida is a Japanese composer and keyboardist who recorded in the ’60s and the ’70s. Yanagida was an underground artist in Japan, but a lot of his music has enjoyed a new life through the internet. His sound featured a blend of Japanese rock, progressive rock, and jazz. In 1970, he released his debut album, Milk Time. After, he released five additional albums throughout the ’70s. The last album he released in the ’70s was The Encounter With UFO (1978). “Crystal Ship” is one of my favorite records.
