Lloyd Banks is a rapper from South Jamaica, Queens who is a founding member of G-Unit, a hip hop group from the 2000s that included, 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck. Together, they built G-Unit into one of the biggest hip hop groups in the 2000s. As a solo artist, Banks enjoyed a successful run on the mixtape circuit, and he had a strong debut album. In 2004, he released his debut album, The Hunger For More. The album was led by three singles, “On Fire,” “I’m So Fly,” and “Karma.” All three singles were hits, The Hunger For More debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, and it went platinum. One of my favorite deep cuts on the album is “South Side Story.”
