Gene Redding was a soul singer from Anderson, Indiana who recorded in the ’70s. He was discovered by Etta James at a USO Club event in Anchorage, Alaska. The United Service Organization (USO) is an organization that provides entertainment for the US Military. In 1974, Redding released his one and only album, Blood Brother. The album was led by two singles, “This Heart,” and “Blood Brothers.” “This Heart” was his most successful single. It peaked at #31 on the R&B singles chart, and at #24 on the R&B Singles chart. Unfortunately, Redding only released a hand full of songs after that.
