William Stuckey was a soul singer from Arkansas who recorded in the ’70s. His musical journey started with the trumpet. He studied the trumpet at the Arkansas School for the Blind. Later, he switched to the clarinet and the alto saxophone. While at the Arkansas School for the Blind, received a scholarship offer from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. However, he turned the scholarship down, and he performed with local bands in Arkansas. Shortly after, he was writing and producing his own music. In 1979, he released his one and only album, Love of Mine. One of my favorite songs is “The First Time.”
