Sample Flips: Cru – “Bubblin” (Prod. By Yogi)
Cru was a hip hop group from the South Bronx who had a brief run in the ’90s. The group featured three members: rappers Chadio, The Mighty Ha, and producer Yogi. Their first feature was on the Changing Faces remix for “We Got It Goin On.'” Changing Faces was an R&B group from New York, and their remix was featured in Mario Van Peeble’s film Panther (1995). In 1997, Cru released their one and only album, Da Dirty 30. The album spawned two singles, “Just Another Case” and “Bubblin.” “Just Another Case” had more impact, but “Bubblin” had its own run as well.
