Cécile Frenette is a singer from Montreal, Canada who sang in the ’70s and the ’80s. She started her career as a singer in The Cooper Brothers band. The Cooper Brothers band was a Canadian rock band that formed in the mid-’70s. Eventually, Frenette went solo, and in 1982, she released her debut album, Cecile Frenette. Her album featured a blend of soul and jazz. However, the self-titled album was the only album she released, but it was a strong effort from an overlooked artist. “The Masquerade Is Over” is an example of her blending soul and jazz together.
