Mic Geronimo is a rapper from Queens, New York who had a strong run in the ’90s. Everything started at his high school talent show. At the show, Geronimo met DJ, record producer, and future label magnate Irv Gotti, and they hit the studio shortly after. Their first session produced Geronimo’s first recording, and his debut single, “Shit’s Real.” In 1994, Geronimo released “Shit’s Real,” and it became an underground hit. The hype surrounding his debut single led to his first record deal.
In 1995, he signed with Blunt/TVT Records, and he released his debut album, The Natural. His album solidified his spot as a rising star. His second album, Vendetta (1997), was his most commercially successful album. However, after having a falling out with Irv Gotti in the late ’90s, Geronimo’s career began to sour. It’s unfortunate because “Shit’s Real” was one of the brightest moments in his career.
