Sample Flips: Big Herk – “I Call Ya Name”

Big Herk is a rapper from Detroit, Michigan who’s been rhyming since the ’90s.  He started his career as a member of the Detroit rap group Rock Bottom.  However, in 2003, he left the group to pursue a solo career.  That same year, he released his debut solo album, Guilty as Charged.  His solo album was well-respected locally, but it didn’t break out nationally.   However, since the release of Guilty as Charged, the album has built a cult following over the years. “I Call Ya Name” is one of the standout tracks from the album.
