One Be Lo is a rapper from Pontiac, Michigan who started rhyming in the late ’90s. In 1998, he created the hip hop duo Binary Star with Senim Silla. One year later, they released their debut album, Waterworld. It was a hit on the underground circuit, and it led to their first tour. However, since they were both on parole, they could only tour in Michigan. In 2000, they released their second album, Masters of the Universe. They were able to build on the success of their debut album, but they actually ended the duo shortly after.
One Be Lo pursued a solo career. In 2001, he released his debut solo album, WaterWorld Too. In 2002, he followed up with his second album, Project F.E.T.U.S. Most of this album was actually recorded before the release of Binary Star’s Masters of the Universe project. In fact, Project F.E.T.U.S. was supposed to have a limited release, but after the initial run sold out, One Be Lo decided to print more copies of the album. In 2005, he released his third album, S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. The third track on the album, “Enecs Eht No Kcab,” is one of the best songs on the project.
