The Artifacts are a hip hop group from Newark, New Jersey who primarily recorded in the ’90s. The group included three members: El Da Sensei, Tame One, and DJ Kaos. Before rhyming, El Da Sensei and Tame One were well-known graffiti writers in Jersey. Together, they started Artifacts as a duo in the ’90s. In 1994, they released their debut album, Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The album featured two hits, “Wrong Side of Da Tracks” and “C’mon Wit Da Git Down.” Before the release of their sophomore album, That’s Them (1997), DJ Kaos joined the group. Sadly, after the release of their second album, the group split for several years. El Da Sensei and Tame One pursued solo careers, but “C’Mon Wit Da Git Down” was one of their best songs together.
