Sample Flips: Crooklyn Dodgers – “Return of The Crooklyn Dodgers” (Prod. By DJ Premier)

The Crooklyn Dodgers were a hip hop group that recorded as two different lineups in the ’90s.  The Crooklyn Dodgers were created through an idea from Spike Lee for his film Crooklyn (1994).  The first group included Special Ed, Masta Ace, and Buckshot.  They recorded “Crooklyn” for the Crooklyn soundtrack. The second version of the group included Chubb Rock, Jeru The Damaja, and O.C.  They recorded “The Return Of…” for the Clockers (1995) soundtrack. I like both of the group lineups and their respective releases, but “The Return Of…” is my favorite.
