Pat Powdrill was a singer from Los Angeles, California who primarily sang in the ’60s and ’70s. Originally born in Birmingham, Alabama, Powdrill moved to Los Angeles with her family as a child. In 1963, at 15 years old, she signed to Frank Sinatra’s Reprise Records. Over the next two years, she released four singles on the label. However, none of the records charted. Fortunately, while she was at Reprise Records she met Nick Risi, an independent record producer who was also a family friend. When her contract was up at her former label, Risi and Powdrill got to work. Their work produced two singles: “Do It” (1966) and “Together Forever” (1967). Initially, “Do It” was a slow mover, but it eventually became one of her most well-known songs.
