C-Bo is a rapper from Sacramento, California who started rhyming in the ’90s. In 1993, he released his debut album, Gas Chamber. The album was led by two singles, “Liquor Sto” and “4-Deep,” but “Realer than Real” and “Bald Head Nut” are two deep cuts that I like. I found his debut album after I discovered C-Bo through his song “Deadly Game” (1998). In ’98, C-Bo went to prison for violating his parole. The violation was his scathing lyrics about law enforcement on “Deadly Game.” When I dug further into his music, I found an artist with a respectable catalog. In the ’90s, he released six albums, and he was featured on songs with 2Pac, TRU, and E-40. Gas Chamber was a good start to a career marred in controversy, but the music was dope.
