Roberto Nicolosi was an Italian composer and orchestra leader from Genoa, Italy. Before the music, he obtained a degree in medicine, then he completed his diploma in composition at the Giuseppe Verdi conservatory. After a successful career as a dentist, Nicolosi’s music career began in the ’40s. During his career, he played piano, violin, trumpet, vibraphone, and double-bass. In 1954, he scored Folco Quilici’s documentary Sesto Continente (1954). This helped Nicolosi establish himself within the Italian film industry, and it led to more film scores composed by him in the ’60s and ’70s. In 1962, Nicolosi released his debut album, Universo Di Notte. In 1973, he released his second album, Atmosfera. The first song on Atmosfera is “Realta” and it’s a good representation of his compositions.
