Showbiz and A.G. are a hip hop duo from The Bronx who came up in the ’90s. Showbiz mainly produced and A.G. rhymed. They made their recording debut on “Back to Back Rhyming,” a deep cut featured on Lord Finesse’s Funky Technician (1990) album. In 1991, Showbiz and A.G. released their debut EP, Soul Clap. In 1992, they released their debut album, Runaway Slave. That same year, Showbiz and A.G. joined D.I.T.C., the Bronx-based crew started by Lord Finesse, which included O.C., Fat Joe, Buckwild, Diamond D, and Big L. In 1995, Showbiz and A.G. released their second album, Goodfellas. “Next Level” was one of the standout tracks from the album. In fact, it had two versions: the DJ Premier “Next Level (Nyte Time Mix)” and the Showbiz original. “Next Level (Nyte Time Mix)” was more successful, but I still like the original.
