Rappin’ 4-Tay is a rapper from San Francisco, California who started rhyming in the late ’80s. After high school, 4-Tay made his recording debut on “Don’t Fight The Feelin,” a song from Too Short’s album Life Is Too Short. Shortly after, 4-Tay had a brush with the law, and he wound up spending ten months in prison. In 1991, he released his debut album, Rappin 4-Tay Is Back. It was a good start, but his second album, Don’t Fight The Feelin (1994), was the album that put 4-Tay in position. The album was led by two singles, “Playaz Club,” and “I’ll Be Around.” Both songs were successful in their own right, but “Playaz Club” was the most popular song.
