William S. Fischer is a keyboardist, saxophonist, arranger, and composer from Shelby, Mississippi. In the ’50s, he performed with artists like Ray Charles, Big Joe Turner, and Muddy Waters. In the ’60s, Fischer was primarily an arranger and a session musician for jazz musicians; he worked with Herbie Mann, Les McCann, and Joe Zawinul. In the ’70s, Fischer started recording his own music; he released his debut album, Circles (1970), on Embryo Records. “Patience Is A Virtue” is the first song on the album, and it has a mean bass line.
