Rich Boy is a rapper from Mobile, Alabama who came up in the mid 2000s. His most well-known song is his debut single, “Throw Some D’s.” I remember when I was in elementary school, “Throw Some D’s” was one of the hardest songs out. The song and the video was playing everywhere, they were in heavy rotation on MTV and on the radio. “Throw Some D’s” ultimately went platinum, and it was the lead single on Rich Boy’s debut album, Rich Boy (2007). When I hear this song, I’m reminded of the 2000s, and I like music that can transport you to a specific time period.
