Silvano D’Auria is an Italian pianist, arranger, and producer from Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Early in his career, D’Auria was primarily a jazz musician, and he performed in Italy with his quintet Silvano D’Auria Quintent. In the ’70s, he became a consultant for RCA Italy and he started expanding his sound beyond jazz. In 1974, he recorded the score music for Nardo Bonomi’s film Sortilegio. Unfortunately, the film was never released. In fact, there is no sign that post production was ever completed, and it’s as if the film completely disappeared. However, the soundtrack survived, and it has enjoyed a life of its own. The record includes, “Titoli,” and a great blend of jazz, funk, and rock.
