Jennifer Lara was a singer from Kingston, Jamaica who mainly recorded in the ’70s and ’80s. In 1974, she recorded a number of records with Clement “Coxsone” Dodd, the founder of Studio One. Studio One is one of the most influential reggae labels in Jamaica; it played a significant role in the careers of many artists, like Bob Marley & The Wailers, Toots & The Maytals, and Lee “Scratch” Perry. In 1980, Lara released her debut album, Studio One Presents Jennifer Lara. The album featured some of the songs she recorded in 1974, and her hit single, “Where Have All The Good Men Gone.” That same year, she released “Consider Me,” a standalone single that further cemented her presence in Jamaica.
