The Diplomats (aka Dipset) is a hip hop crew from Harlem, New York that formed in the late ’90s. In 1997, the crew started with Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey; Juelz Santana joined two years later. Then, The Diplomats took the early 2000s by storm. Their commercial success started with the release of Cam’ron’s third album, Come Home With Me (2002). The album was led by “Oh Boy,” and “Hey Ma,” which became two of their most memorable hits. One year later, The Diplomats released their debut album, Diplomatic Immunity (2003). “Dipset Anthem” and “I Really Mean It” were two of the most popular songs on the album, but “I’m Ready” has always been an additional standout for me.
