Source Material: Marijata – “I Walk Alone”

Marijata was an afrobeat band from Ghana who recorded a few albums in the ’70s.  The band featured three members: Kofi “Electric” Addison (drummer), Bob Fischlan (organist), and Nat Osmanu (guitarist).   In 1976, they released their debut album, This Is Marijata.  The album includes a range of sounds, like funk, soul, and jazz, but afrobeat remains at the core.   I like “I Walk Alone” because of the underlying message in the song, and the guitar riffs are strong throughout.
