Erick Sermon is a rapper and a producer from the Bayshore section of Long Island, New York. He is one half of the legendary hip hop duo EPMD. Together with Parrish Smith, and featuring DJ Scratch, they rose to prominence in the late ’80s through their own unique sample-based style. In 1993, EPMD broke up for the first time, and Sermon embarked on a solo career. Later that year, he released his debut album, No Pressure. One of my favorite tracks from the album is “Flippin’ Switches.”
