Brighter Side of Darkness was a soul group from Chicago, Illinois who enjoyed a brief run in the early ’70s. The group was led by 12-year old Darryl Lamont, and the supporting members were Ralph Eskridge, Randolph Murph, and Larry Washington. In 1972, they released their debut single, “Love Jones.” It was their biggest hit; it reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 1973, it was certified gold. Later that year, they released their one and only album, Love Jones. Unfortunately, the group disbanded after the album failed to make a significant impact.
