Source Material: Stelvio Cipriani – “Mary’s Theme”

Stelvio Cipriani was an Italian film composer who made the majority of his music throughout the ’60s and ’70s.  In 1966, he composed his first soundtrack; his music was featured in the Spaghetti western The Bounty Killer.  In 1969, Cipriani composed the film score for Femina Ridens (The Laughing Woman).  There, you can find “Mary’s Theme” waiting for you on Side B.  I like the strings and the vocals, but there’s also a cool xylophone section as well.  Cipriani’s career took off in the early ’70s.  He won the Nastro d’Argento award for best score for The Anonymous Venetian (1970), and in 1973, his score for The Great Kidnapping became one of his most well-known soundtracks.
