Source Material: The Nights – “Country Girl (You’re My Everything)”

The Nights were a soul group from the ’70s that was led by songwriter and producer H.B. Barnum.  The group was comprised of seven members: Rickey Blain, Anthony Brahumm, Ira Clark, Dennis Hagger, Joey L. Mingo, Vincent Rocto, and Anthony Williams.  In 1976, they released their only album, The Nights.  The album was led by two singles, “(When You Dropped Your Guard) Love Knocked You Down” and “Country Girl (You’re My Everything).”  Both singles are dope, especially “Country Girl (You’re My Everything),” unfortunately, the group never released anymore music.
