Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N) are a hip hop duo from Queens, New York that came up in the late ’90s. The duo features rappers Capone and Noreaga (N.O.R.E.); two friends who met in prison in 1992. After their release, they started rhyming together. In 1996, they released their debut single, “Illegal Life” Ft. Havoc and Tragedy Khadafi. Unfortunately, that same year, during the creation of their debut album, The War Report, Capone was sent back to prison for a parole violation. N.O.R.E. was forced to complete the majority of their debut by himself, but Tragedy and Mobb Deep helped. In 1997, Capone-N-Noreaga released their debut album, The War Report. The album is known for songs like, “Bloody Money,” “L.A., L.A.,” and “T.O.N.Y. (Top Of New York),” but “Live On, Live Long” is one of my favorite deep cuts. I like the way N.O.R.E. honors Capone, their friendship, and their upbringing.
