Janko Nilović is a Montenegrin pianist, composer, and arranger who was born in Istanbul, Turkey. Since 1960, he’s lived in Paris, France. During his early years in Paris, Nilović enjoyed a successful career as a performer in Jazz nightclubs. Then he transitioned to creating arrangements for TV shows. He was also a composer, producer, and writer for some of his contemporaries. His arrangements and his compositions led to a record deal as a producer for the Paris-based label, Éditions Montparnasse 2000. At MP 2000, Nilović released a slew of albums (often considered library music) throughout the ’60s and ’70s across a range of genres. In 1975, he released Soul Impressions, a jazz-soul album with funk elements. One of the best songs on the album is “Drug Song.”
