Bruce Fisher is a singer-songwriter who was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In the early ’70s, he relocated to Los Angeles and began his music career. As a songwriter, he co-wrote “Will It Go Around In Circles” (1972) and “Nothing from Nothing” (1974) with Billy Preston. He also co-wrote “You Are So Beautiful” (1974) with Joe Cocker. As a singer, in 1974, he wrote and performed (alongside Leon Ware) “Body Heat,” the title song of Quincy Jones’s 1974 album. Later that year, Fisher recorded his debut single, “At The End Of a Love Affair,” for United Artists. The single wasn’t much of a success, but the song, and his songwriting efforts led to the release of his eventual debut album, Red Hot (1977) on Mercury Records. “In My Life” is an underrated soul record that speaks to Bruce Fisher’s talent.
