Sample Flips: A$AP Twelvyy – “Strapped” (Prod. by P On The Boards)

Since the inception of ASAP Mob, A$AP Twelvyy has always held his own.  The first time I heard Twelvyy was on A$AP Rocky’s song, “Trilla” (2011), which also featured A$AP Nast.  From there, Twelvyy’s impact within and outside of ASAP Mob has grown over the years.  Songs like, “12 Unleashed” (2012),  “Xscape” (2014), and “L.Y.B.B.” (2016) are benchmarks in A$AP Twelvyy’s career.   “Strapped,” produced by P On The Boards, is one of Twelvyy’s standout tracks from his debut album, 12 (2017).  One thing I like about this song (and the sample in particular) is the source material comes from a contemporary artist: Sampha’s “Beneath the Tree” (2013).
